Obituary for Maxine Copeland (MacCannell)

Copeland, Maxine (nee MacCannell)

Passed away peacefully at Headwaters Health Centre with family by her side on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Stuart Copeland. Loving mother of Dan, Lynnette and Paula. Devoted grandma of Jeanette, Kyle and Alicia and great-grandma of McKenna, Trevor and Parker. Dear sister of Ron (Marg) MacCannell and sister-in-law of Joyce Clarke, Russ (Rennie) Copeland, Brian (Janice) Copeland and Brenda Jack. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Dan and Ethel MacCannell, parents-in-law Tom and Hazel Copeland, brother Ken (the late Joan) MacCannell, sister Joyce (the late Keith) Holmes, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Anne MacCannell, Glenn (the late Shirley) Copeland, Emerson Clarke, Norman Jack and nephews Darryl MacCannell, Tim Copeland and Gerald Clarke.
Maxine was born and raised in Proton Township and spent her active life in the community of Dundalk as a teacher for many years as well as participating in the Dundalk Little Theatre, the Lioness Club, Council, Dundalk United Church, as the editor of the Dundalk Herald and volunteering for the Cancer Society. Heaven will be a lively place now that she has rejoined Ken and Joyce for an old-fashioned shin dig.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. If desired, donations to Swinton Park Cemetery or the Dundalk Fire Department would be appreciated.
