Obituary for Lorna Jean Priddle
Our hearts are broken as we announce the passing of Lorna Jean Priddle (Downey) on Tuesday, April 26th, 2023 in her 72nd year at the hospital after a battle with cancer.
Lorna was a very caring woman who always saw the good in everyone. She taught us all, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. Lorna was dedicated to being a nurse, caring for everyone's loved ones. She worked at Dufferin Oaks for 30 years, taught courses at Georgian College, and she continued in-home care up until late last year.
Lorna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially cherished time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lorna enjoyed traveling with her family from time to time, but her favorite place to be was at her trailer in Shelburne.
Lorna will be greatly missed by her husband of 39 years, Gord Priddle. Children Tammy (Corwin) and Jamie (Brittni). Sister, Donna (Bob). Grandchildren, Lindsay (Kurtis), Zachary (Lindsay), Logan (Danielle), Hailey, Rylee, Dreyden, and Jeremy, Great-grandchildren, Jordan, Lane, Leah, Adaline, Reece and Reid.
Lorna was predeceased by her son Justin, father Vern Downey, mother Helen (Lowden), and brother David.
A visitation will be held to remember Lorna at McMillan and Jack Funeral Home in Dundalk on Sunday, May 7th, 2023, from 2 pm. until 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honour of Lorna to Shriners Hospital for Children or Sick Kids Hospital.
