1932 - 2021
Passed away peacefully at the Hanover & District Hospital on Thursday December 30th in his 90th year. Predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Kay (née Fluney). Dedicated father to Cheryl (Murray), Grayling and Daryl (Joanne). Proud grandfather to Mark, Melissa, Ryan, Justin, Connor and Avery. Joe is survived by his sister Lynne. Greatly missed by his companion, Gloria and will forever remain in the hearts of extended family members.
Born in Owen Sound, Joe was raised on both the family homestead in Annan and the farm on the 6th concession, Port Elgin. As a young man, Joe undertook the move to Toronto, pursuing greater career opportunities. Bruce & Grey Counties always drew him back; spending summers in Port Elgin and Ayton, eventually retiring in Hanover. Joe spent many winters in Florida and will be fondly remembered by his Sebring community.
Joe was a kind hearted man who loved life, his family and friends.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dundalk Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Hanover & District Hospital and Grace United Church, Hanover appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
