Obituary for Douglas Joseph "DJ" Ardis

Ardis – Douglas Joseph, Age 24 sadly left us on June 14, 2018
D.J. was born in Orangeville on March 9, 1994 to loving parents Bernie and Cindy (Filion) Ardis and older brother Sean.
D.J. will be extremely missed by his grandparents Fern and Faye Filion and Eleanor and Jack (2017) Ardis. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, Sean, Danny, Peter and Carolyn (Craig Fisher) Ardis. As well as Wade (Diane), Bret (Donna) Filion, Debbie (Dwayne Watt), Tracy (Parrish Lew), Susi Cohen, Kathleen Mercer and Terra Belliveau.
Dougy will always have a special place in the hearts of his cousins, Flyn, Ben, Charlie, Sam, Mahalia, Eric, Gabe, Michael, David (Dallas), Cody, Aaron, Shannon, Trevor, Candice, Connor, Amber, Katie (Tyler), Ryan (Jacqui) and Jessica.
Dougy attended public school in Dundalk, Grey Highland Secondary School in Flesherton and graduated from the Police Foundations Program at Conestoga College. For the past four years D.J. was employed by Horizon Landscaping. This spring he decided to open his own business, Northern Oak Landscaping.
Dougy touched the lives of everyone he met. His laughter was contagious and he was always there for anyone who needed him. Dougy’s love for sports was huge, but Hockey was his true passion. He played for Dundalk Storm, Grey Bruce Highlanders AAA, Blue Thunder, Owen Sound Greys Jr. B, Mount Forest Patriots Jr. C and Durham Thunder Sr. AA. Dougy also loved fishing and took every opportunity to be with his family and friends.
Buddy, we all hope you are at peace now…till we meet again, you will be in our hearts forever. Always remember what your brother said, “No one has to do this thing called life alone.”

Friends and family will be received at the Dundalk Community Centre, 550 Main Street East Dundalk, on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 4 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to McMillan & Jack Funeral Home, Dundalk. If desired, donations to WES For Youth in D.J.’s name would be appreciated.
