Passed away peacefully at home with family, in his 92nd year.
Beloved husband for 68yrs of Loreen (Shier).
Cherished father of Susan (late David) Juneau, Dave (Tammy) Nixon and Bill (Barb) Nixon.
Proud grandfather of Giselle (Cory) Nickason, Evan Juneau, Reanna (Mason) Bellamy, Matt (friend Emily). And two great granddaughters Abigail and Grace Bellamy.
Don was raised in Proton, near Bethel, one of seven children to William & Alberta (Bradley) Nixon.
He is lovingly remembered by his two surviving sisters Margaret (late Archie) Currie, Mary Melrose (late Dave) and brother Murray Nixon, and sister-in law Rose (late George) McIntyre.

When Don left the farm he had many adventures, from logging in Vancouver as a choker-man to driving truck for Beamish Construction Inc. He also started as a machinist then became a licensed auto mechanic. After Don & Loreen were married, they lived for a while in Brampton, then Norval. As they started their family the draw for home led them back to Dundalk and then the hobby farm on the west back line. He ended his career working for Charter-ways Bus Service. He spent many happy hours and hard work on the hobby farm, raising cattle and then goats. Also, many Rving trips with Loreen, and a dream trip to Alaska and into the States.
He will be sadly missed by his family, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Cremation has taken place, a private interment in Bethel Cemetery, where he will join his parents, grandparents, infant son, brother Jim and son-in law David.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Dundalk Wesleyan Church, 752202 Ida Street, on Saturday November 25, from 2 – 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stoke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
