It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Birdie Neilson on March 10, 2024 at Brightshores Hospital, Markdale.
Birdie Neilson, beloved wife of the late Keith Neilson. Very loved mother of Bill, Linda (Andre Deeder) and the late John. Cherished grandmother of Kayla Neilson (Kyle McNamara) and Johnny Neilson. Adored great-grandmother of Keagan Perry and Kolton McNamara. Survived by daughter-in-law Joanne Neilson (Ken McCulley), sisters-in-law Gail McLaren (Frank Bader), Kay Neilson and Mabel McLaren Whatmough. Predeceased by her parents William and Nellie McLaren, brothers Robin, Mac and Lyle McLaren, sisters-in-law Leona (the late Ken) Bates, Eleanor (the late Lloyd) Dow, Betty (the late Ray) Hopkins and brother-in-law Burton Neilson.
Resting at the McMillan & Jack Funeral Home, Dundalk. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Spring interment in Shelburne Cemetery. If desired, donations can be made to Brightshores Health System, Markdale, Heart & Stroke Foundations, The Canadian Lung Association, Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
